The owner and founder of Crossfit stepped down after being asked. Boards of Directors routinely ask presidents, CEOs and Founders to step down. That is not uncommon. And the company, if public, is owned and accountable to the public not one person. If they are failing in the mission or driving the company into the ground, it would be a travesty to not ask them to step down.
