I threw away over $1M ignoring email marketing; learn from what I did wrong

When I first started blogging over two decades ago, I quickly gained thousands of subscribers through the blogging platform I used at the time, Blogger, automatically. I didn’t need to do anything to collect them.

Because I was one of few bloggers back then in my niche, celebrity pregnancy and news and information, I had a lock on the market. At that time, had I been cognizant of the value of email marketing, I would have used that direct access to close to 50,000 eyeballs to promote affiliate products or sell my own products.

I was aware of email marketing but didn’t take proactive steps to take full advantage of the opportunity. It was a million dollar mistake.

I’m now starting again and it’s an uphill battle now that there are more competitors in my market and it’s not as easy as before.
