How Procrastination Could Actually Save You From Your Next Big Project
The average entrepreneur is us.
We have a plan to accomplish a particular goal, and in this digital online world we live in, we get constantly bombarded with pitches of a bunch of ways to reach our target…from news articles, social media, friends, ads for coaching programs, and such.
We wind up subscribing and racking up on webinars, trainings, and we collect and start saving articles, links and other things.
Most of them we rarely finish. Some we never open at all, even after paying a handsome sum for them.
After awhile, some of us realize that we really don’t have a business and we haven’t gone much far in our journey.
We come to accept that all we truly have is an expensive hobby. That and/or an addiction to the hustle and bustle of “the start of something big”.
For a lot of us, the culprit of our failure is procrastination.
Another is is distraction. Life. School. Work. Projects. Home tasks. Children. Family obligations. We got a full plate, most of us.
But procrastination and distractions are not always bad for progress.
It is during the times when we procrastinate that we may realize that, ‘hey…we don’t really have time to dedicate to this after all.’
In which case, procrastination becomes a tool for clarity.
Or…the problem could be overwhelm.
When we are overwhelmed by the task, we just put it off to avoid the stress and anxiety.
I have a suggestion.
Rather than think of the entire task, the final task, train your brain to think about one action item or one tiny task towards the big goal.
When you realize the action item is less daunting, will take minutes of your time, compared to hours or days, you’re more likely to pen that task in your calendar for the day and do it!
I hope this motivates you.
